Bethel Baptist Church -
Iglesia Bautista Bethel

Rota, Spain

History of the Church

Bethel Baptist Church is an Independent, Fundamental Baptist Church that has been serving the English speaking community of Rota, Spain, since 1973. Through the years we have offered a friendly place of worship where everyone is welcome.

The first pastor was E. A. Woodfield who served in that position from the founding of the church until 1976.

He was followed by Ron Parrott, who pastored until 1983.

Chris Parker pastored from 1983 until 1998, when he felt called to pastor a church in the states.

Roy Smith pastored from 1998-2002, then he returned to Germany to pastor a church there.

Chris Parker returned to pastor Bethel in 2002 until June 22, 2008.  He recently resigned to take a church in Iwakuni, Japan.

In June of 2008, Bethel called Missionary John Beck to be their pastor.

Through the years at Bethel, many people have been saved and are now serving the Lord in churches around the world. Some are pastors, some missionaries, and some are faithful church members continuing in the work of the Lord.
