We spent a great time in 2003 at Bethel Baptist Church in Rota. It was a very blessing time indeed. We appreciate very much to receive still your prayer letter and news. Arti keeps you, dear Bro John and your family, as well the community of Bethel Rota on his prayer diary.
Since 2005 our boat Butzlimu is in Turkey were we spend part of the year. Otherwise we live in Basel, Switzerland were we also join the Baptist Church. We often talk about the Rota time, it was best we had and I (Ruth) was finally baptisted in the freezing cold Atlantic.
With love to you all, Ruth & Arti

Br. John, I guess you're getting the ABC's of Christian Growth. If you like different lessons, I can send them also. I'm not sending as much time at Temple in SC since my wife isn't caring for her mother as before. How much change is there in the Base. Is the U.S. Navy the major force on the base. Are the ships still coming in as before? I miss being afloat, forced to retire in 2003 for medical reasons. Sure would like to get a MAC flight there sometime.
In Christ, your Brother.

I attended in 1975 and again in 1980 while on deployments to Rota with the Navy. Bethel meant so much to those of us who were saved. It was a save haven for a young christian in a foreign land and a great place to fellowship and serve while away from our home church. I'll always remember Eddie Woodfield and Ron Parrott. It's also good to see that the Lord still works there and that those that are in the armed forces today have a Lighthouse showing the way, just as I did so long ago. May God bless you and the work that He does through you.
